July 31 Practice and Sail Testing
 

On July 31 a number of Scorpio crew got together for an afternoon practice sail to evaluate the mast tune

and Scorpio's new mainsail.  In addition, time was spent with the new asymmetrical spinnaker practicing

gybes.  Spar builder Buzz Ballenger was aboard to assist with any rig tune changes.  While a small amount

of headstay tension was added to reduce mast pre-bend, no other rig changes were made.  However, it

became clear that Scorpio's new mainsail needs some serious work.  Following are some photos of both

the old and new mainsail.  North Sails will review these shots and modify the main as necessary:  Note
