2007 Preparations Underway
 

Although our first event isn't scheduled until May, it's time to begin making serious plans for another successful year.  Now that the schedule is set and the crew are sending in their confirmations for the year, and order has been placed for a new 3+ jib.  Our last 3+ was a dynamite sail, but since we use it in over 20 knots, it lasted only 60 hours.  The replacement sail will contain some carbon which should extend its useful life.

Scorpio's  bottom also needs some work.  Tom Wylie recently spent some time mapping the bottom, and KKMI will begin additional hull and keel fairing in January.
 
         

         

By February Scorpio should have a bottom comparable to that found in strong Farr 40 programs.
