Doug Frolich Joins Team Scorpio
 

Doug Frolich, local sailor and yacht designer, has joined the team as crew member and boat captain.  Doug grew up sailing in the Bay Area, knows the local waters, and is a welcome addition to the Scorpio program.  Coincidentally, Doug sailed on Scorpio's sistership Warspite in the early 1990s.  Doug was a part of Warspite's winning crew in the 1993 Kenwood Cup, and was part of the delivery crew back from Hawaii.

An award-winning yacht designer, Doug won the 2004 Bluewater Sailing Magazine design competition, judged by former Sparkman & Stephens design chief Bill Langen and designer Rodger Martin.  See http://www.abycinc.org/news/pr031704.cfm

Doug is also an accomplished racer having won numerous races including the Doublehanded Division in the 1998 Pacific Cup (San Francisco to Oahu) on his Moore 24, Low Profile.

Doug replaces G.W. Grigg who, over the years, contributed greatly to Scorpio's success.
